Help!
Hi, I'm a little over my head with my master's thesis data. I don't know
how much information to put into this first email, but here goes. I've
measured several traits on 6 streamside grasses, traits relating to the
potential for the plants to prevent erosion (stem density, root length
density, etc). I'd like to run a multivariate ANOVA using species as
treatments, but the data are not exactly tidy. Each species/trait
combination has data that are uniquely skewed and/or varied.
Transformations seem to be in order, but I don't know how to determine
which transformation(s) to use, if I can transform part but not all of the
data, or how to back-transform when interpreting the MANOVA's results.
If you talk me through some of this, I'll bake you virtual chocolate-chip
cookies.
