Minimal library

I have been asked to suggest some book purchases by the new National 
Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis. I was there recently 
for a workshop, we ran into a statistical question, and had no 
reference books on hand. What would you recommend as a minimal 
library for the center? Clearly copies of Zar, Sokal & Rolfe, and 
Snedecor & Cochran are appropriate. What else? Provide reasons 
please. Send me your answers. I will compile them, and share them 
with this list.
