ESA Stat Section maillist needs a new home
Hi - For the last few years, I've been maintaining the ESA Statistical
Ecology Section computer mailing list as a service to the section. I've
run it as a 'mailing list'; statsoc-l is an alias on my e-mail
account/campus host for a large file of e-mail addresses to which
section business automatically is sent.
It would be much better to run it as a true listserver using listerv,
listproc, or majordomo software, but my institution (Mount Holyoke)
doesn't support listerver software, and has no intention to in the near
future.
So, I'm looking for a volunteer at an institution that supports listproc
or majordomo software to take over management of the statistical section
list. I'll help with the transition (by providing known valid e-mail
addresses of current section members, and known invalid ones), and in
any other ways that would be helpful.
Please let me know directly (aellison@mtholyoke.edu) if you'd like to
try your hand at managing the list as a listserv.
